Port Fairy’s own, The Southern Ocean Sea Band, grew up and formed around PFFF, inspired by the landscape itself and Danny Spooners’ (RIP) shanty singing sessions at the wharf. They had their on-stage christening on the Shebeen stage in 2017, launching their debut album, Blood & Bones & Fins & Glory, full of singalong songs about the town’s history and folklore. Since then the band has toured consistently throughout the countryside, playing Regional Arts Victoria shows in community halls and spreading the joy of shanty singing. This year the band again will present a ‘Song-Walk,’ which is a tour of the town presenting their songs about the town in the places that are mentioned in their songs. Join them for a rollicking tour of song and history!
