Broome based reggae music tribe The Mexicans are much more than a band. Based in Australia’s Kimberley, the extremes of this outback region have eroded away all the other reasons why people make music together.

The Mexicans’ gigs are spirited, respectful and simple and they perform for the pure joy of it, and for the music loving communities they adore. Brothers, storytellers, writers, artists, community facilitators, environmentalists, language and culture advocates, fishermen, bush-chefs, tourism guides, and local music facilitators: true to themselves, it’s all in their songs. The Mexicans are: Bart Pigram, Brendan Clarey, Dan Houston, Gavin Pigram, George Bishop, Staf Smith and Tonchi McIntosh.
