Renegade folk cellist and powerful singer-songwriter Monique Clare sculpts a sound informed by a backdrop of folk tradition and classical music, but with an audacious disregard for convention. Her lyrics dance between darkness and light, and her songs have a reputation for bringing listeners to tears. She has two awards to her name already, as Folk Alliance Australia’s Young Artist of the Year and recipient of the Ros Hales Award for Women in Music. Her debut solo EP, ‘By The Stars’, was released in August 2017, backed by a Pledgemusic campaign that went far beyond its target and drew supporters all the way from the USA, UK, Europe and Japan.

Monique “delivers a performance that is stunning to fans of any music genre.  Her songs are intimate and soaring – both sonically and lyrically, and her stage presence is pure joy” – Matt Smith, Folk Alliance International.
