Open for the 2021 Festival 

A celebration of music, culture and community, Port Fairy Folk Festival welcomes all applications from artists across a range of genres including music, theatre, spoken/written word, street theatre, children’s entertainment, dance and comedy. Please sign up to our e-news to receive notifications on key opening and closing dates.

The Festival takes place both in the Arena and a selection of venues throughout the Village of Port Fairy. If successful, your schedule of venues and times will be at the discretion of the Program Director. The Program Team work very hard to ensure that each schedule provides the best possible benefit to both the artist and the Festival.

Our application process is highly competitive. Each year we receive approximately 1000 applications, of which we can only book approximately 100 acts. Please note that due to the volume of applications we are unable to notify all unsuccessful applicants.  If you have not been contacted by the end of September, please assume that your application has been unsuccessful.

Please read our application guidelines for music artists and street theatre artists before you begin your application.

When your application is successful, the application successful page will appear and you should receive a copy of your application to the email address you supplied in the act contact section. If you do not receive a confirmation email, please first check your junk mail. Confirmations are an automated reply and can trigger junk filters, especially for gmail and hotmail addresses.     The Port Fairy Folk Festival takes place in a small regional Village in South West Victoria. Accommodation options are very limited in the area. The majority of accommodation that we can provide is camping and or homestay/billet, and a very limited selection of motel or house options. Accommodation will be discussed with you if your application is successful in going to the shortlisting process.

    AVAILABILITY: We book acts on the basis that they are available for shows over the entire Festival period. Exceptions are only at the discretion of the Program Director and are to be discussed prior to submitting an application. Please note for Street Theatre Performers the expectation is up to five performances across the Festival weekend. PUBLIC LIABILITY: To play Port Fairy or any other Australian festival it is mandatory to have insurance that covers each act member. We will require a copy of your PLI Certificate of Currency upon booking. TAX, SUPER, WORKCOVER: The artist agrees to arrange and comply with their own tax, superannuation and Work Cover obligations. International acts must cover Health Insurance, Visas, Tax & PL Insurance. APRA: All Artists are to supply set lists to PFFF at completion of performances so they may be supplied to APRA/AMCOS for royalty distribution. CD SHOP: The festival run shop sales commission is 25%. Side of stage sales and signings will run in accord with the CD Shop policy. QUOTES: Quoted Fee must be in $AU and include GST if applicable. Please include all per diems and meals in your quoted fee. RIDERS & GUEST PASSES: The Festival is not in a position to provide meals and/or hospitality riders or complimentary guest passes.
