NEW ORLEANS SECOND LINE DANCE

Presented by Junkadelic Brass Band

The ‘second line’ is a tradition in brass band parades in New Orleans, Louisiana. The main, or ‘first’ line is the front section of the parade, which includes the brass band. Those who follow the band just to enjoy the music are called the ‘second line’. Traditionally, second liners will dance, walk and sometimes twirl a parasol or handkerchief in the air. Now you can learn and practice the quintessential art of New Orleans’ second lining thanks to the Junkadelic Brass Band!
