Melbourne Mass Gospel Choir is Victoria’s hottest community gospel choir. The huge sound of 80 voices singing foot stompin’, hand clappin’ Black gospel balanced with the finest of vocal harmonies. MMGC sings traditional, popular and contemporary Black gospel. Formed in 2008, the choir has performed sell out shows at the famous Gershwin Room at the Espy, the Corner Hotel in Richmond, Collins Street Baptist Church and festivals around Victoria. In 2011, MMGC presented for the first time in Australia the sell out Gospel Songs of Bob Dylan show, singing the powerful songs of Dylan’s Slow Train Coming and Saved albums.
Phil Heuzenroeder is the choir’s dynamic Music Director. He is passionate about gospel music, having recently toured gospel churches in the USA. Phil has directed massed gospel choirs and run gospel singing workshops around Australia for the past 12 years.
