Margret RoadKnight’s professional singing debut was at a Melbourne theatre in 1963, and subsequent decades have taken her around the globe, often representing Australia.  PFFF’s Artist of the Year 1998, Margret has recorded ten albums, appeared on many more, and her timeless Australiana ’70s hit Girls in Our Town is still fondly remembered. Margret is renowned for her lyrics of wit and wisdom, powerful and versatile vocals, unique wide-ranging roots-based repertoire, and her sense of humour and history.

Margret RoadKnight is celebrating her “Golden Jubilee”!  Her professional career began in the folk scene of early ’60s Melbourne and has taken her around the globe.  She has sung blues, jazz, gospel, folk, comedy, and social commentary songs in concert halls and cathedrals, clubs and campuses, from Broome to Hobart, Beijing to Memphis, Paris to Auckland, Edinburgh to Tel Aviv, New York to Seoul, Amsterdam to Dublin, New Orleans to London, Vancouver to Nuku’alofa. PFFF’s 1998 Artist of the Year continues her singing and travelling unabated, presenting her unique roots-based repertoire to fans young and old. After eight years absence, the woman with the sense of humour and history is back!
