At the forefront of contemporary Scottish folk, Orcadian quartet Fara make their Port Fairy Folk Festival debut with material from their second album, Times From Times Fall. Comprised entirely of self-penned songs and instrumentals, the young four-piece including Jennifer Austin, Kristan Harvey, Jeana Leslie and Catriona Price produce a spirited sound rooted in their remote homeland. Combining the unique Orkney fiddle tradition with contemporary songs and melodies, Fara celebrate the unity of their musical beginnings blending their four distinctively different musical voices together. Featuring words by Orcadian poets: George McKay Brown, Edwin Muir and Christina Costie; the images of Orkney running through these songs will evoke a sense of home and tradition.
