The ODD SOCK CIRCUS celebrates difference in a colourful show filled with fun songs, dances and circus magic. Phil Melgaard, Sam Thorpe and Steve Schulz are joined by guest performers from the audience in a wacky show that entertains children of all ages.

• Red the Clown – Family Folk Circus
One of Australia’s most renowned clowning characters, Red the Clown has become a legend to generations of children. His captivating show contains amazing magic interspersed with juggling, jokes, lots of opportunity for audience participation and a particularly scary balloon trick involving a rather large needle.
• Zamponistas – Street INvaders
The Zampoñistas are Australia’s premier Bolivian Pan Pipe Marching Band. They weave in and out of crowds, twisting, turning and spinning as they play – totally engaging audiences and innocent bystanders alike!
The band is united by three things: their love of panpipe music, their love of chocolate, and their unstoppable but totally irrational belief in world domination by panpipes! Listen for their haunting Inca tones as they pop up around the festival.
• Yoga Loves Music
True Spirit Revival is an epic journey back to the truth of who we are at our deepest level. The experience evolved through the exciting workshop collaboration between Canadian-born yoga instructor, Kimberly Erin, and internationally renowned Australian singer-songwriter, Tom Richardson. Flow with your breath in an uplifting yoga practice that consciously merges live music with body, mind and heart. Ride the wave of movement into the corners of your soul and reconnect to your own strength, beauty and truth… One breath at a time. This is BOTH a yoga class and a live music concert.
• Barry Peters – Family Folk Circus
Barry Peters is the Paul Kelly of the underage music scene capturing the deepest ideas with uncomplicated words. A fully independent artist achieving near gold record sales touring across regional and rural Australia, Barry’۪s status continues to grow as one of the nation’s principal writers of songs for children and the environment. Barry is the creator of six full length children’s CD’s released under his Canya Dantz label and one of his many writing projects, with Buninyong Primary, won the community development section of Victoria’s Education Excellence Awards in 2009. Committed to people and celebrating life, Barry is an artist worth introducing to every child.
• The Whoopee Project – Street INvaders
The Whoopee Project is a genre-busting progressive-polka-experimental-kozmigroov-post-funk-symphonic-hard-rock-avant-ska sonic conceptualisation collective, striving to guide the listener to higher levels of consciousness through a finely distilled auditory cocktail of saxophones and drums!
• The Festival Choir
James Rigby and Jane Thompson are skilled and experienced performers, teachers and choir leaders highly sought-after for their warm, inviting style and regularly direct festival choirs and singing events all over the country. They directed ‘Gurrong’ for the 400-voice Boite Millennium Chorus in 2014 with Archie Roach and Shane Howard. They have a wealth of beautiful songs to share – come and join them! All welcome.
• Percussion Experience – Peter Vadiveloo
Dynamic percussionist and teacher Peter Vadiveloo will lead festival go-ers in 3 fun rehearsal/workshops. The Percussion Experience is for all ages and abilities – it’s all about participation! Come and play music every day with us. Peter is joined by outstanding tutors Bella Vadiveloo and Dani Rocca.
• Big Rory & Ochie – Street INvaderS
The entire Big Rory Family will be visiting Port Fairy Folk Festival with their two dogs. Big Rory will show his French wife Fifi the glories of Port Fairy, whilst Ochie will show the new pooch Frederic the best smells. A family outing of chaos, laughter, drama, bagpipes, love, smells and wetness!
• Bikerina – Street IN•vaderS
A professional German circus artist with more than 19 years of performance experience in over 13 countries. She began her remarkable career at a young age, competed several times at German and European unicycle championships, and perfected her circus skills at the Dutch Circus School ‘Codarts’. Ina has miraculously managed to squeeze all this experience and skill into one action-packed circus extravaganza – The Bikerina Show!
