Alasdair Fraser, regarded as Scotland’s premier fiddle ambassador and master of Scottish fiddle, and stunningly talented Californian cellist Natalie Haas are widely renowned as one of the great traditional music partnerships of all time.
Fraser has a concert and recording career spanning 30 years, with a long list of awards, accolades, and feature performances for film (Last of the Mohicans, Titanic). Fraser is also a recipient of the Scottish Heritage Center Service Award for outstanding contributions to Scottish culture and traditions. The 25-year-old Haas, a graduate of the Juilliard School of Music, is in the vanguard of young cellists re-defining the role of the cello in traditional music. Fraser and Haas present a lively and evocative repertoire, featuring the return of the cello to its historical role at the rhythmic heart of Scottish dance music.
