Where is it?

The festival site is the village of Port Fairy, four hours drive west of Melbourne along the Princes Highway. The Great Ocean Road trip takes twice as long! The main site in the village is The Festival Arena with all the big venues.

Port Fairy is an old sea-side fishing and farming village looking out to the Southern Ocean waves rolling along the south-west coast of the state of Victoria. It was along this south coast of Australia that ships sailed in the early years of immigration. Many were wrecked on the rocks. A fishing fleet still operates from the wharf on the river.

The town of Port Fairy has become a thriving year round tourism destination and is an ideal stopover for ongoing tours further west or north to The Grampians.

The main festival site is The Arena situated at the north section of Southcombe Park (shown in green right side lower) along Campbell St. . This also has the Southcombe Park camping ground. Other venues are situated around the village eg at Surf Club, Fiddlers Green & Railway Place (cnr Bank & Sackville St), Reardon Theatre, Lecture Hall, St Johns Church, St Patricks School Hall, Consolidated School Hall and others. Google maps should also help locate the several other camp grounds.
