The Port Fairy Folk Festival is proud to announce the first round line up for the 43rd Festival in 2019.  Folk music from many cultures will be on show. From our own diverse Australian stories to the rich folk traditions of Canada, the USA, England, Ireland, Wales, Scotland, South Africa, Greece and Italy, the  43rd Port Fairy Folk Festival celebrates traditions and relishes in new discoveries.
We are absolutely delighted to be welcoming to the festival one of Ireland’s most acclaimed female performers, Mary Coughlan. Joining her from the green isle is the sensational Daoirí Farrell. Other festival debutants hail from Canada, and include Tomato/Tomato, Mélisande [électrotrad] and Basia Bulat, who is the inaugural exchange artist with Calgary Folk Festival. We are also thrilled to be presenting Bongeziwe Mabandla from South Africa and multi Latin Grammy award winner Gaby Moreno. Festival highlights will abound!
Renée Geyer will make a welcomed return to the festival, and for one special concert she will join Stars, and perform with them a massive highlight from the iconic Andrew Durant Memorial concert from 1980.
…And wait for it there is more. Festival favourites Les Chauffeurs à Pieds will be sure to bring the houses down with their spectacular Quebecois music. From the USA we are delighted to welcome Front Country and Red Tail Ring, and from our own fair shores we present Sal Kimber & The Rollin’ Wheel, Mark Lang, Marcia Howard Band, The Weeping Willows and so many more magnificent artists to be announced.
